Google Search
It was very interesting covering all the different aspects of Google search in class. There are many features that I have used in the past, but there were also some that I found to be very useful and had never explored them. I have never really went into any depth on the advanced search until we covered it in class and I found some of those features to be very useful, so using the advances search feature in the future will be something that I do that is beneficial. Another feature in search that I feel will be useful in the future is the flight search option. I never realized this existed, and it was intriguing to see all of the different features Google offers when a person is looking for flights. Lastly, I really like to cook, so I think the recipes feature on Google is something that I will be able to take advantage of. I really like the fact that a person can select which ingredients they want to include, and which ones they want to leave out. I actually just recently found a recipe for pork chops, and I am really excited to try it out!

Blogging can be used many ways, but the main concept of blogging in my opinion is that it is a way for people offer up their thoughts and opinions on certain topics, and current events. Blogs are a place where a person can think out loud and not have to worry about being interrupted by anyone else, and by doing this a person is able to explain how they feel more accurately. Blogs also allow a person to see their own thoughts in writing, and its also interesting to look back on your views in the past and see how they have changed and evolved over time.
Looking through the Blogmeister site I saw a variety of different ideas of how blogs can be used in education. I viewed one teacher's blog where the class had taken a trip and the teacher had given a brief description of what the class had done and also put up some pictures of the trip. I thought this was a neat way to allow parents to hear about what their child did as well as see some pictures of what went on throughout the day. The blog I viewed that stuck out the most to me was one where a teacher had posed a question to his/her students, and wanted to get their opinion on a current issue. I really liked the way the teacher utilized the blog because it is something I could see myself doing in the future when I enter the profession. Using the blog to have students to respond allows them to utilize technology, which every kid these days seems to enjoy :).
